About us
The Born Family originates in the Emmenthal, Switzerland.
I was born in Spiez, did my schooling in Nidau a suburb of Biel, in the canton of Bern.
After my graduation as a Electronics engineer (Bern), i emigrated to:
South Africa.
Johannesburg was my destination, where i stayed the next 15 years.
After my marriage to:
Sira Behesnilian, in 1973.
We were blessed with 3 wonderful children:
1976 Natalie Westin-Born
1981 Serge Born-Wandl
In the mid eighties we sold our house in Randburg , (Above right)
our electronics business, and we
left Southafrica for Switzerland
The Behesnilian Family has its origins in Armenia.
Both my grandfathers escaped the 'Armenian genocide' early last century.
They settled in Addis Ababa, where Haygaz Behesnilian met Victoria Aintablian.
They got married and had two daughters. Sira and Jeanine.
In 1968 our whole family left Ethiopia (Addis Ababa) like most of Ethiopian-Armenians -YetovbaHayer- and we emigrated to Southafrica.
First Durban, then Joh’ burg.
My sister, Jeanine got married and left for Switzerland, to Geneva.
In 1973, I got married to:
Since 1986 we settled in Lucerne
